Born in Marseille in 1953, and an architect by training BALDASSARI expresses in his painting a very mediterranean exuberance.
Discovered by Claude Mannoni, in December 1993 Galerie HORIZON set up his first solo exhibition to great success. His work which could be defined as lyrical abstraction is often built upon memory and travels. It can be collages or compositions where paintings and materials combine to give stong, sometimes musical or phylosophical impressions.
Following a trip to New York he returned to France with a beautiful series of art pieces made with composite materials where the painting is associated with protruding matters or uncompleted sentences bringing poetry and mystery to the piece.
A young painter still to be discovered, Baldassari has already met with success with some collectors in California he had several exhibitions in France and was selected to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Galerie Horizon in December 1997.
