Born in 1946 in Paris, of Mediterranean parents, Cante Pacos works mainly in Paris area. His intense research into the depth of the matter leaves us colorful sediments or emerging landmarks, and it’s difficult to determine whether they are on paper, iron or just rust.Sculptor as well as painter, Cante Pacos works on his memories of aplace, its depth, its light, the impression it made on him. His paintings are wrought, like sculptures, on panels, old doors or boat hulls disassembled in dry docks, and the canvasses bring back these old hulls with a dark, warm, soggy feeling.Even the titles cal back sacred memories and give us poetic clues on the long, past history of ancient woods and crumbling walls.
Since 1970, Cante Pacos has been build monumentalsculpture for several major French cities, the last one in Paris in 1993.Many personnal exhibitions in PARIS, MARSEILLE, SAN FRANCISCO and all over EUROPE.
Next fall his last works will be presented in Paris and Marseille
